U.S. Travel Association Reacts to Supreme Court Hearing on Trump Travel Ban
PRESS RELEASE April 26, 2018
WASHINGTON -
U.S. Travel Association Senior Vice President for Government Relations Tori Barnes issued the following statement on oral arguments in Trump v. Hawaii:
“The Supreme Court’s eventual decision will provide clarity for federal agencies and travelers alike, no longer leaving doubt as to the effect of the travel ban on select countries.
“It is vital that the administration strikes a balance that protects our country while maintaining America’s tradition of welcoming visitors from abroad. International travel is crucial to communities across the U.S. and the president’s own goals for economic and job growth.
“It is our hope that the Trump administration will take the opportunity—upon the court’s ruling or sooner—to clearly express that the U.S. values legitimate international business and leisure travelers.”
